Standard 1: Students shall demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.

A. Locomotor

S1.GK.A.1 Performs the locomotor skills (hopping, galloping, running, sliding and skipping) with balance.
S1.GK.A.2 Performs jumping and landing actions with balance
S1.GK.A.3 Performs locomotor skills in response to teacher led creative dance

B. Non-Locomotor

S1.GK.B.1 Maintains balance on different bases of support.
S1.GK.B.2 Forms wide, narrow, curled and twisted body shapes.
S1.GK.B.3 Rolls sideways in a narrow body shape.
S1.GK.B.4 Contrasts the actions of curling and stretching.

C. Manipulative

S1.GK.C.1 Drops a ball and catches it before it bounces twice.
S1.GK.C.2 Catches a large ball tossed by a skilled thrower.
S1.GK.C.3 Dribbles a ball with 1 hand, attempting the second contact.
S1.GK.C.4 Taps a ball using the inside of the foot, sending it forward.
S1.GK.C.5 Kicks a stationary ball from a stationary position, demonstrating some critical elements of a mature kicking pattern.
S1.GK.C.6 Volleys a lightweight object sending it upward.
S1.GK.C.7 Strikes a light-weight object with a paddle or short-handed racket.
S1.GK.C.8 Executes a single jump with self-turned rope.
S1.GK.C.9 Jumps a long rope with teacher assisted turning.
