This unit focuses on the essential question: How can taking a stand help to develop a person's belief system? The lesson sequence will require that students write arguments to support claims with clear and relevant reasons. Throughout this unit, students will read, evaluate, and analyze texts and speeches that will be used in their development of writing a speech that answers the essential question.
