Induction Program Standards

Strong program leadership is perhaps the most important component in the developing a successful teacher induction program. This standards document outlines a guiding framework for induction program leaders to follow in developng and implementing a strong and successful comprehensive teacher induction program. Included are:

  1. Foundational standards including program vision and goals, administration, principal and site leader engagement, and program assessment, evaluation, and accountability with a focus on continuous improvement.
  2. Structural standards including mentor roles and responsibilities, proffessional development, teacher assessment and beginning teacher proffessional development and learning communities.
  3. nstructional standards that focus on instructional practice, equity and universal access.

NTC Consults with state and district induction program leaders to help them design, develop and implement high-quatlity induction programs aligned to these standards as part of our program Theory of Action.
